Bright IDEA’s Beacon Ticket Scholarship Program

This year, the Beacon Scholarship is launching specifically to welcome first-time BiPoC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) individuals to their very first Interfuse. While we strive to keep our tickets affordable, we are offering a limited number of waived-cost (that means FREE) tickets to those who have never joined us before. We want to lower the barrier for entry and show that we are truly invested in having you experience a weekend in the florescence for the first time.

To fill out the form, you don’t need a ticket, but you do need a Volunteeripate account (created using the email with which you plan to purchase tickets)

If you have a friend who fits the criteria and you’ve been trying to convince them to give us a chance, please have them fill out the form! This is a great opportunity to welcome brand-new members into our family with fewer strings attached.

Cross-Regional Leadership Exchange

We are thrilled to announce that we are joining the Leadership Exchange Program focused on building bridges with our sibling burns outside of the Midwest region.

This isn’t just about training, it’s about exchanging knowledge and culture with other regional burns across the country. We are plugging into an existing national framework that allows our leads to travel and shadow at other burns, while inviting leads from other regions to bring their unique expertise to ours. By sharing our secret sauce with other communities (and learning theirs), we make the entire global burner network stronger.

NOTE: Not applicable for leadership of any Midwest Burners Association Burn, Gateway Burners, Resonance, or Topeka Area Burners

And speaking of burn leadership…

Meet the 2026 Interfuse EC Team!

Star

I’m Star, long time burner with a volunteering habit. This is my 3rd and final year serving on the EC team. I’m excited to see how I end up serving the community next.

Praxis

I’m Payton AKA Praxis and I’ve been attending Interfuse since 2019. I am passionate about making space for people to enjoy their burns, helping keep our burns safe and I have been involved in Rangering for years. My favorite principle is Immediacy, which is something I struggle with sometimes in default world. Looking forward to my first year as EC at Interfuse in 2026.

Britney

I’m Britney, a second-year Event Coordinator. When I’m not at camp Tiki Star Bar/Flamingo Lounge, I’m wandering the burn or enjoying your events!

In my default life, I work with the 988 crisis line and teach resiliency in KC schools while finishing my second Master’s in Social Work. I’m a fan of painting, my two dogs, and shark facts. I love forming genuine connections, so if you see me, please come say hi and join the adventure! I’m always happy to meet a new face.

Bittersweet

Hi, I’m Bittersweet. This is my third year helping run Interfuse. I got my start in leadership as a DPW co-lead, and I found out there that I enjoy being in charge and answering questions and solving problems and planning ahead to make things better. The EC position fell in my lap when there were so few EC volunteers that putting the event on pause was up for debate, so I jumped in to do what I can, and I’m enjoying learning about our community. Come find me if you have a question or just want to talk about the event.

Kara

Kara!

Radio

I’m Radio, and I’ve been part of Interfuse for over a decade, previously serving as Infrastructure Co-Lead and a Greeter. I’ve always believed the heart of this burn lives in the teamwork and care that happens before the gates even open.

I’m stepping into the Event Coordinator role with deep respect for the logistics and people that make this community possible. I’m here to support the collaboration and thoughtful execution that keeps us building something worth coming back to. Feel free to stop me with questions or just to share what you love about this community!
