Dates Pre-Announcement
We know everyone’s eager to start planning their PTO and costume ideas, so here’s where things stand. We’ve done everything we possibly can on our side to lock in 2026, and the dates we’re moving forward with are May 14 to 17. All that’s left is the final thumbs-up from the landowners. It’s the last tiny piece of paperwork in an otherwise wrapped-up process, but unfortunately there’s nothing else we can do to rush it.
So consider this your soft announcement. Not fully carved in stone, but definitely written in pen with a confident underline. As soon as we get the official confirmation, you’ll be the first to know.
Ignition 2026: Escape!

Missing your Midwest burner friends? Ignition, the annual Midwest Burn season kickoff meetup, is officially on the calendar. The vibes are high and Kansas City will become a playground… but the location? Yeah, we’re keeping that one tucked under our dusty hats for just a bit longer. Think of it like a treasure hunt, except the treasure is a party with all your favorite (and soon-to-be favorite) people. Are you game? Stay tuned for the big reveal and all the juicy details!
This year Ignition is about the whole Midwest burn scene, not just one event. We’re calling out to everyone who keeps this community alive across these rolling plains. If you’re part of the Midwest burner ecosystem in any way, this kickoff is for you.
You can jump into the escape-style challenge around the city, or skip the quest entirely and head straight to the venue for meetings, workshops, and a dance floor. Choose your own adventure!

Ignition, like every burn, only happens because people step up with their skills, weirdness, talent, and curiosity. If you’ve got something you want to share, perform, teach, or build, fill out the participation form and let us know what you’re bringing. This is your moment to shape the kickoff and set the tone for burn season.

We now have official Google calendars for Midwest Burners and Interfuse. These will track department meetings, community events, work weekends, volunteer trainings, signup deadlines, and everything else you need to stay in the loop.
You can subscribe with one click so events drop straight onto your own calendar. No more digging through posts or wondering when something is happening. These calendars will also live on the new website, making it even easier for everyone to stay plugged in.
There’s a submission form if you have something that should be added. Send us your meetings, gatherings, workshops, or anything the community should know about. This is a community resource, so the more you share, the better it gets.
